Hear ye, Hear ye, A Book Announcement is ready to be made.   We would like to announce the fourth book of the Demesne YA fantasy series “The Challenge” is now live on and e-book for your favorite device.  Short synopsis of “The Challenge”    Montiack invokes the Matriarch Challenge, a deadly duel on dragon back. The first obstacle for Jira is to find a dragon from her own clan as her dragon mount. Her connection to the valley and to the crystal, and any help from her friends Aithera and Devon is forbidden by the First Matriarch, and any interference will be met by instant death. Oh no! what to do, what to do. A little over dramatic perhaps. The segment we just wrote is flat, lack luster. We lost the momentum, fell flat on our faces. What happens when your scene falls flat. Can we say ouch? So what is the solution? Go back through the chapter before the one we are having trouble with, then gage the flow into the problem child. Reading it out loud helps put things in perspective. Our current work, New Beginning, runs a gambit of emotions. So if we build it up and the fire goes out before the bang, we are in trouble. (Sorry, we still have fireworks going off around us) It’s the little things that can trip you up. One might think that hand placement or whether a person is standing by a window or not isn’t really that important. (Did you hear the “but”?) Depending on the action, and who is doing what, or the event you are trying to portray, these things can be very important. Should so and so run, walk or even feint. In this case where should a magical event happen. How big or small should it be and of course…
